As first time home buyers, my wife and I were looking to make the move out of Hoboken to a larger, more affordable condo in Weehawken. Like everyone else these days, we had done countless hours of ‘research’ on Zillow, Trulia, and the likes. We knew what we wanted and just needed someone to move along the paperwork- or at least that’s what we thought.

After deciding to stay close to NYC, we ventured out to several different buildings with different realtors to have a look for ourselves. Each time, we found ourselves surprised with things like additional fees not mentioned in the online listings, and disappointed that photos may not have been representative of the state of the units. We finally found a unit worth seeing in a Weehawken complex we had long been interested in. Here’s where Linda and Renaissance Real Estate comes in.
Other realtors we had dealt with in the area were pushy, seemed all-knowing, somewhat belittling, and always seemed to be in a rush to meet with someone else. We went to our first viewing expecting the same but soon found out Linda was nothing like the other realtors.
That first day, Linda showed us six different units. Each one had its pros and cons, and after each unit, Linda seemed to have a better understanding of what we were really looking for. That night, she emailed us one more listing and set up a viewing for the next day. The condo needed work- it was a short sale and had a long history attached to it, but my wife and I saw the potential. It wasn’t long before we were back in Linda’s office, putting an offer on our first place.
Despite being a short sale, Linda came up with a plan to get us into our first home quickly. She knew the market and the right people to get the job done. The terms of the sale were such that we had to close within 50 days of our offer and we couldn’t imagine this happening without Linda and her team’s help. Throughout the process, she made us feel comfortable and was always working on the next step for us. As first time buyers, we couldn’t have been more fortunate to have stumbled upon Renaissance Real Estate when we did and would recommend Linda to any one of our friends or family- first time home buyers or not.
